LISC’s Sustainable Communities Initiative (SCI) is a comprehensive, place-based approach to resident-led neighborhood revitalization.  Working closely with organizations led by residents, local leader and stakeholders, LISC helps neighborhoods craft multi-faceted plans that address a myriad of concerns and opportunities. These plans provide an agreed-upon blueprint for the revitalization process and help partners attract greater investment for affordable housing and other real estate development and additional resources for family income supports, economic development, education, community safety, resident leadership, and arts and culture.

Philadelphia LISC has designated four SCI neighborhoods in Philadelphia: West Philadelphia, Eastern North Philadelphia, Kensington, and Fairhill.
